Theory-ladenness of observation

In the philosophy of science, the claim that there is no neutral observational language against which we can test our theories. As all observation is dependent upon theoretical interpretation, scientific theories are therefore in commensurable, and choice of theory depends upon non-empirical (for example, social or political) grounds.
