Reliabilism

Epistemological theory that knowledge must be acquired via a reliable mechanism, such as a counter factually sensitive causal connection to the fact in question. It is not, however,necessary for the subject to know which mechanism was used or to assess its reliability.Reliabilism is thus a form of epistemological externalism.
