Paradigm

In the philosophy of science, a set of scientific and philosophical assumptions, often based around “exemplary” results, that guides scientific research. According to Thomas Kuhn(1922-1996), on this model falsified theories are maintained until a paradigm can no longer maintain cohesion and the paradigm “shifts,” at which point a “scientific revolution” occurs.
