As explained at the beginning of this chapter, this book is intended primarily for philosophy students, especially new philosophy students, whose focus is mainly or even exclusively on Western philosophical traditions. For this reason, the discussion of non-Western philosophical traditions, which ends this chapter, is no more than a cursory review. Those interested in studying non-Western philosophies in depth may refer to “Resources” in Chapter 14.
