Alienation

A psychological or social ill, in which a self and other, which properly belong together, are separated. Alienation is a concept central to Marxism and denotes the result of separating a person from their labor, identity with the products of that labor, from others, and from themselves. Such separation, Marxism holds, is the unnatural, exploited condition of workers in a capitalist economy
